With thousands of Christmas lights already lit on next Friday, November 15, 2019, the Christmas market of Tjöloholm Castle begins with the focus on sustainability. During the next three weekends, until December 1, it is possible to visit this historic Tudor-style castle located south of Gothenburg in the Kungsbacka fjord in Halland County.

Its popular fire show, activities related to Christmas ornament design, a “shower of sweets” by the castle, choir and coral concerts in the castle church and live craft shows are some of the activities that await the visitors of the Christmas market at Tjolöholm.

This year also presents a novelty, called The Bazaar, which is Tjolöholm’s own store located on the lower floor of the castle where exclusive products of Liberty London will be offered as well as some selected antiques of the castle itself.

As for the trend, sustainability will be present in many of the exhibitors at the Christmas market, for example, there is the “noWaste” project making new products from food waste or another exhibitor planting four new firs for each julbock (the goat-shaped Christmas ornament so popular in Sweden) sold.
Hundreds of artisans from far away like a couple of Sami exhibitors who come from Norrland and other local companies will showcase their craft and gastronomic products among many others.
