Christmas Market at Katrinetorp
Katrinetorp Landeri is an old manor house dating from the 19th century hosting a traditional Christmas market. In 2019 the market is going to be held from December 2 to 4 and more than 75 market stalls will fill the place with craftmanship, flowers, candles, design, food, trees and gnomes.
The market at Katrinetorp has been in place since the year 2000 and it has become a tradition in Malmö. Some people think it’s the most beautiful market in southern Sweden.

The cafeteria, Katrinetorps trädgårdskafé, serves homemade pastries and coffee and in the main building there is place for other food like sandwiches. At the market there is also time for activities, song singing and games for both adult and children.
The market is open on Friday from 11:00 pm to 7 pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Entry fee is 80 SEK (7.50€ / $7.50/ £7) for adults and everyone over 15 years of age. To reach Katrinetorp by public transportation you can get on bus nr. 54 from Malmö Triangeln Station.
The Farmer’s Christmas Market
Bondens egen marknad is the Farmer’s Market where they sell their products directly to the people visiting. Similarly to other farmer markets in Sweden or in the US Malmö’s farmer market attracts farmers from the surrounding areas in Scania several times a year. In this market you will be able to buy local produced food.
In 2019 the special Farmer’s Christmas market will be held on December 10 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in Drottningtorget Square located at the northeastern part of Malmö’s historical city center at about 5 minute walk from the Central Station.
Malmö during Christmas can be a great getaway if you are visiting Copenhague and want to see how things look like on the other side of the Öresund Strait. It’s about 30 minutes by train from central Copenhague to central Malmö. Two cities in one getaway at almost the same price.
