If there is an accomodation I’d like to recommend to sleep in Kristianstad undoubtedly this is Annas Hotell. We stayed at this wonderful hotel during our month-long roadtrip in Sweden when we were visiting this area of Scania and chose it precisely for things that would not disappoint us later.

A Historical Building
The Annas Hotell – Anna is the real name of the owner – is located in a historical place dating from the seventeenth century that was a farm between 1882 and 1951 and was later occupied by Sweden’s military orchestra and even used as a nursery. In 2009, Anna, pregnant with two children, decided to renovate the house and transform it into the magnificent hotel it is now.

After years dedicated to service jobs in hotels and restaurants Anna who also studied to become a somelier found in this house of Kristianstad the perfect place to make her dream come true: an accommodation where it is easy and comfortable for the guests to stay.
Everything is so comfortable and easy that there is even a vehicle in case Anna has to go and pick up the guests. And not just any vehicle! My wife was already in love as soon as she saw the black VW Beetle cabrio.

Anna likes to sum in a Swedish word all the effort she has put into her hotel to make it an unforgettable experience for her guests: omtanke.
Omtanke: Caring
Omtanke is when your guests are your main concern. Omtanke is when you strive to give them the best. Omtanke is when even the smallest details are taken care of. Omtanke is having consideration for people who are enjoying your place. Omtanke is putting all your heart into what you do for others.
Anna shows her caring in many different ways. For instance leaving encouraging messages written on stones on the breakfast tables.

Or placing female hygiene products at the disposal of the guests.

Or placing candles, matches and freshly cut flowers in the room so you can create your own romantic atmosphere. Also the bottle of water in the room, tea and coffee are included in the price.

Both my wife and me felt taken care of when we stayed at Annas Hotell. It is one of the hotels in our trip to which we would return without hesitation and bring some friends and family with us for them to enjoy it.
Breakfast and Dinner
If you travel to Sweden during the warm months of the year you will probably enjoy breakfast on the beautiful terrace at the back of the hotel. If weather is not good then you can always start the day in the cozy interior breakfast room.
Breakfast begins to be served at 6:30 until 9:30 in the morning but if you want to have breakfast at some other time then Anna will prepare a take away with omtanke.

Wherever the breakfast may be, as in so many other places in Sweden, you will not be disappointed with the contents but here Anna puts her extra touch of consideration with a well-made frukostbord / breakfast table.

Anna also serves dinner at her hotel from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for guests who want to make the most of their days visiting Kristianstad or nearby places.
Location of Annas Hotell
Annas Hotell is not located in the center of Kristianstad but about 4 km north, which is about 10 minutes away by car from emblematic places in the center such as Tivoliparken, Stora Torg Square or Vattenriket, the biosphere reserve by Unesco.
If you travel there with your car or a rental car it is very easy to find and you also have free parking in the same hotel.
You can check prices and availability to book a room at Annas Hotell here . Keep in mind that if you travel when the Sweden Rock music festival takes place at the beginning of June in Nörje, near Sölvesborg, 45 km from Kristianstad, all rooms will probably be fully booked.
