Åre, the famous ski resort in Sweden that hosted the world championship last February, started its ski season on Friday, November 15 at 8:00 and will last for almost half a year until the month of May 2020. Starting December 8, Åre ski resort will open daily.

About Åre Ski Resort
Åre has 89 slopes and 41 ski lifts and is one of the best places to ski in Sweden. In fact Åreskutan, the top, is one of Sweden’s 15 most beautiful places. Not surprisingly, ski competitions of the highest level are held in this resort.

How to Get to Åre
To get to the Åre Östersund (OSD) airport by plane you can do it with Easyjet from Berlin, London and Copenhagen. Also from Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) you can fly to Åre Ostersund with SAS and from Stockholm Bromma (BMA) with BRA. From the airport to the slopes in Åre there are about 90 km that can be done by rental car or taxi transfer for about € 30.
You can get to Åre by night train from Malmö via Stockholm which is an interesting option whether you fly to Copenhagen or Stockholm. Trains depart on Wednesdays and Saturdays and arrive at Åre at 8:00 the next morning. The return trip starts on Thursday and Sunday from 4:00 P.M. to enjoy the most of the last day on the slopes.
